The route begins on the main road car park to the west of Maukenbach. From there, you cycle on the flat at the edge of the Maukenwald forest before climbing into the forest. In the forest, the route leads to the "Trögen" resting place, which is an inviting place to stop. From there, the track climbs steeper until it reaches the Grafenrieder Kreuz. There, you can take in the wonderful views of the Inntal, before continuing on towards the Holzalm hut.

Steinbergalm

Anyone who cycles through Alpbach on the way to this tour is sure to notice the magnificent flowers on the houses there. In 1983, Alpbach was voted as Austria's most beautiful village because of its homogenous Tyrolean wooden architectural style and its fabulous floral decorations.
Route: From the Inneralpbach car park, turn left towards Luegergraben, then after 1.1 km, cycle over the wooden bridge. The forest road then leads gently uphill along the Alpbacher Ache river. The route passes the Kühtalalm hut and then climbs steeply until it reaches the Faulbaumgartenalm hut.
You can stop off here for refreshment. The route then continues along a lovely alpine meadow trail

until it reaches the Steinbergalm hut at 1710 m (refreshment point).

 

Alpbach-Sieglbichl-Thaleralm tour

From the Hotel Böglerhof, cycle as far as the fork in the road at the Gasthof Roßmoos guesthouse / Tottahof snack bar; either follow the route via Gasthof Roßmoos (refreshment point), then turn left towards Stolzenberg - after 250 m the gravel trail begins - the first part is very steep, then becomes moderately steep until the Pechalpe / Wurmeggalm turning - continue straight on to the Sieglbichlalm hut - then push for approx. 100 m - descend via the Thaleralm hut to the Zottahof snack bar (refreshment point); alternatively, follow the route in the opposite direction from the fork in the road via the Zottahof, Thaleralm, etc.

 

Reither Kogl
